Law changes for 2017-18 season

The International Football Association Board have come with a number of law changes for next season.  These apply to all levels so please note.

The main points:

• Reminder of the captains role
  
• Goal Celebration- safety concerns/Security (back flips for example) = yellow card
• Kick off- the kicker can stand in the opponents half
  
• Off field offences (players/coach) direct free kick on the boundary line to the opposing team
• Offside - clarifying for 9 and 11 aside
  
• Penalty kick. If a player stops a promising attack and commits a foul in the penalty area, but he/she attempted to go for the ball... he/she will not get a yellow card but a penalty will be awarded
• Players/subs must ask for permission from the referee to re-enter the field of play, otherwise a YC and direct free kick awarded
  
• Sin Bins - New Rule and will include grass roots. This rule is League dependent. A player will be sent off the pitch for 10 mins for dissent only. They can only return with the permission of the referee. They cannot be substituted during this time!!! They will not be fined unless the incident is repeated
• Throwing objects including subs kicking a ball onto the pitch and interferes with play. Direct free kick awarded to the opposition.
