Following the government's announcement today (16th March) that people avoid social contact and gatherings where possible to limit the spread of COVID-19, the FA are advising that all grassroots football in England is postponed for the foreseeable future.
TJFC are following this advice and all matches and training will be postponed until further notice.
The FA is in regular communication with the Government and its advisors and the situation within English football at all levels remains under regular review. Further updates will follow as needed.
We are pleased to announce that our clubs have once again been selected to host a number of cup finals from junior and senior leagues in the York area. This is testament to the quality of our playing facilities and an accolade for us all to be proud of.
Sat 4th April Seniors Junior cup (2pm)
Sun 5th April U12’s 9v9 cup (11am)
Sun 5th April U19’s cup (1.30pm)
Sat 25th April Senior cup (2pm)
Come along and support these great occasions!
Unfortunately due to lack of support for this club event the Christmas Boogie Night is cancelled. This is a pity since the last disco do was a great success - and raised valuable funds for the TJFC operation.
Fund raising is a necessary evil for a club that offers so much for so little in the way of subscriptions. TJFC is one of the cheapest in the area, yet is located in the best facility. Events like these keep the subs down. The alternative is to increase them to balance the books. Something for the next meeting and the AGM.
Additional players are sought for the Under 19 boys team to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season in the First Division of the York & District Under 19 Football League. With matches on Sunday afternoons, the squad trains at Tockwith on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings (under floodlights when needed).
